Countertop or pedestal: choose the layout before the stone ---------------------------------------------------------- Both formats can make the onyx the focal point of a bathroom, but they organise the space differently. Start with storage, the finished basin-rim height and the route of the plumbing. Then compare the forms and finishes in our [onyx sink collection](https://www.lux4home.com/onyx-sinks/) and discuss the chosen dimensions directly with us as the manufacturer. ### When a countertop basin fits the project A countertop basin allows the cabinet and surrounding surface to provide storage and space for everyday items. Include the basin height when setting the finished vanity height. Check the worktop cut-out, support and waste connection against the actual product drawing, and leave access to the trap inside the cabinet. Position the tap so the water lands comfortably inside the bowl, with room for hands and cleaning around the basin. ### When a pedestal basin fits the project A pedestal exposes more of the sculptural form and may suit a layout without a conventional vanity. Plan separate storage for towels and toiletries. Confirm whether the proposed model connects through the wall or floor, where the service opening is located and whether its back is intended to remain visible. A lighting system must remain serviceable and be specified for its location by a qualified installer.
